Exporter of leather Products Will be able to improve their realisations once detail of their products and production facilities are available to buyers abroad on the Net, the Commerce Secretary, Mr.G.K.Pillai, said while launching the e-portal of the Council for Leather Exports (CLE) here on Wednesday,
The CLE also launched a monthly e-magazine citing the experience of the Agriculture and processed Food Export Development Authority (APEDA) after it had launched its portal, Mr.Pillai said that “realisations of grape formers had gone up three times after the APEDA Web site was launched and details about their farms, methods of farming and product specifications were instantly available to buyers abroad”.

The Commerce Secretary also outlined some of the basic details that leather exports should provide on their newly launched web site to attract buyers. Detail of the company systems of production, specifications about leather, how the factory is run facilities in the factory and such information in the public domain will enable buyers to take decisions, he said,”Eventually, the exporter will get a better price per unit,”
Mr.Pillai said.
